Welcome to Diple.

Please read these Terms carefully before using the App, particularly the provisions concerning auto-renewal, local data backup, risk notices, limitations of liability, service changes, and dispute resolution.

By downloading, installing, accessing, purchasing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not download or use the App.

1. Scope

These Terms apply to the Diple main application, its Markdown editing and document library features, membership features, related updates, and services provided by the Developer.

If you obtain the App through the Apple App Store, your software license is also subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement and the applicable Apple Media Services Terms. These Terms primarily govern App functionality, paid services, and the relationship between you and the Developer.

2. Description of the Service

Diple is a Markdown document editing and management tool for iPhone and iPad. Its features may include:

• Creating, editing, and managing Markdown documents;
• Using the formatting toolbar to insert headings, bold, italic, inline code, code blocks with syntax highlighting, quotes, unordered/ordered/task lists, links, images, strikethrough, horizontal rules, and tables;
• Switching between immersive, live preview, preview-only, and source display modes;
• Using a document outline to jump quickly to headings;
• Organizing documents with folders, including nested folders;
• Organizing documents and folders by custom order, name, modification time, or creation time, and moving items to the top;
• Viewing recently opened and edited documents;
• Adding private notes to documents;
• Moving documents and folders to Trash and restoring them before they expire, or permanently deleting documents according to your settings;
• Protecting folders with a password, Face ID, or Touch ID;
• Using biometric protection for Trash when it contains items from encrypted folders;
• Exporting documents to the Files app or sharing them with other apps through the system share sheet;
• Customizing appearance, font, font size, language, and save mode;
• Purchasing and using Diple Pro features.

Available features may vary according to App version, device model, operating system, region, and App Store product configuration.

3. Software License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and applicable law, the Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the App on compatible devices that you own or control for personal and lawful purposes.

Except where expressly permitted by applicable law, you may not:

• Copy, resell, rent, sublicense, or commercially distribute the App;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive its source code;
• Modify the App, create derivative works, or circumvent technical restrictions;
• Remove or modify copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
• Use the App to disrupt devices, systems, or other users.

4. User Content and Acceptable Use

You retain any rights you lawfully hold in the Markdown documents you create, edit, or import in the App (“User Content”). Using the App does not transfer ownership of that content to the Developer.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to create, store, edit, export, or share relevant content.

You must not use the App to:

• Create, store, or distribute content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other legal rights;
• Create, store, or distribute content prohibited by applicable law, including fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawful information;
• Attempt to interfere with the security of other users or systems;
• Engage in any other unlawful, infringing, or harmful activity.

You are responsible under applicable law for disputes arising from User Content that you create, store, export, or share. Nothing in this section excludes liability that the Developer is legally required to bear.

5. Local Data, Backups, and Access Protection

Diple documents, folders, notes, and settings are stored entirely on your device. The App does not provide iCloud or other cloud synchronization services.

You are responsible for making appropriate backups, such as by exporting or using system sharing, based on the importance of your content. Device damage, insufficient storage, system failures, user error, App removal, or operating-system cleanup may result in the loss of local data.

Documents and folders moved to Trash are generally retained for approximately one month before being automatically removed. Restore any content you want to keep before it expires. You may also choose to delete documents immediately; documents deleted this way do not enter Trash and cannot be restored from it.

Folder-protection passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain. If you forget a password, the Developer will generally be unable to recover it. Keep passwords secure and do not include sensitive personal information in password hints.

Face ID and Touch ID authentication are performed by iOS. Folder protection and protected Trash are in-app access-control measures. They are not substitutes for a device passcode, system data protection, reliable backups, or professional encryption, and they cannot guarantee absolute security in every circumstance.

6. Free Features and Diple Pro

The App does not limit the number of documents you can create. The free version supports creating up to 2 folders.

Diple Pro is a paid subscription or one-time purchase offered by the App. Features it may unlock include:

• Creating an unlimited number of folders and nested folders;
• Protecting folders with a password, Face ID, or Touch ID;
• Access to Pro features in future updates.

Membership benefits are determined by the purchase screen, App Store product information, and the actual description in the App.

If your membership is canceled or expires, folders and documents that already exceed the free-version limits remain available and you can continue to view, edit, export, or delete them, but you may be unable to create additional folders or documents, or add or modify folder protection, until membership is restored. Folder protection you previously set up can still be unlocked or removed after membership expires; it will not lock you out of your content.

The Developer may lawfully adjust free and paid features but will not arbitrarily deprive you of services already purchased and still within their valid service period, except where changes are required by law, platform policy, security concerns, or force majeure.

7. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions and One-Time Purchases

7.1 Product Types

Diple Pro may offer:

• A monthly auto-renewable subscription;
• A yearly auto-renewable subscription;
• A one-time lifetime membership purchase.

Monthly and yearly memberships are auto-renewable subscriptions. A lifetime membership is a one-time purchase and does not renew automatically.

7.2 Price and Free Trials

The actual price, billing period, free-trial duration, and renewal price are shown on the purchase screen and Apple purchase confirmation screen.

If a free trial is displayed on the purchase screen, the subscription automatically renews at the displayed price and billing period when the free trial ends.

7.3 Billing and Renewal

After you confirm a subscription, payment is charged to your Apple Account.

Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or current subscription period ends, the subscription renews automatically and Apple charges the fee for the next billing period.

7.4 Cancellation

You can manage or cancel your subscription by going to:

Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions

After cancellation, membership benefits generally remain available until the end of the current paid subscription period, unless Apple rules or applicable law provide otherwise.

Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

7.5 Price Changes

If the subscription price changes, Apple will provide notice and obtain your consent where required by its rules or applicable law. You may cancel the subscription before the new price takes effect.

7.6 Restoring Purchases

You may use the “Restore Purchases” feature to restore eligible purchase entitlements associated with the current Apple Account.

7.7 Refunds

Purchases and refunds are processed by Apple. You can request a refund through Apple’s Report a Problem page.

Refund eligibility and decisions are governed by Apple’s refund policies and the mandatory consumer-protection laws applicable in your region. These Terms do not limit any statutory right to a refund, contract termination, or other remedy.

8. Privacy and Permissions

The Developer processes information relating to the App in accordance with the Diple Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy describes:

• The types of information processed by the App and the purposes of processing;
• How Face ID permission is used;
• How local information is stored and deleted;
• How Apple services process information;
• The privacy rights and controls available to you.

If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy regarding personal-information processing, the Privacy Policy and any applicable provision that is more protective of your rights will apply.

9. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content, the software code, interface design, icons, name, trademarks, text, and related materials of the App are owned by the Developer or their lawful owners.

You may not copy, modify, sell, rent, publicly distribute, or otherwise exploit this material without authorization.

“Diple” and related identifiers may be used only as expressly authorized by the Developer.

10. Third-Party Services and Apple

The App may use or connect to:

• The Apple App Store, StoreKit, and system biometric services;
• A system share destination or the Files app that you actively choose.

Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. You are responsible for complying with those terms when using the relevant service.

Apple is not the provider of the App functionality governed by these Terms. Except as provided by Apple’s terms or applicable law, the Developer is responsible for App maintenance and support.

11. Updates, Changes, and Discontinuation

The Developer may update, modify, or discontinue parts of the App to improve functionality, correct defects, maintain security, support operating-system changes, or comply with legal and platform requirements.

If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice through an in-app message, release notes, the purchase screen, or another appropriate method and obtain consent where required by law.

For paid services within an active subscription period, we will provide the corresponding benefits in accordance with the purchase description and applicable rules. If continued performance becomes impossible, we will take reasonable measures such as continued performance, replacement services, a prorated refund, or another remedy required by law.

12. Availability and Risk Notice

We take reasonable measures to maintain the stability and security of the App, but we do not guarantee that:

• The App will operate permanently, uninterrupted, or without errors;
• The App will be fully compatible with every device or operating-system version;
• Folder protection, password authentication, or other security measures will be effective in every circumstance;
• Documents stored locally will never be lost due to device or system issues.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Nothing in this section excludes statutory quality obligations, mandatory consumer rights, or express commitments that the Developer is not legally permitted to disclaim.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer is not responsible for losses directly caused by:

• User Content that you create, store, export, or share;
• Failure to make reasonable backups, accidental deletion, or a forgotten folder-protection password;
• Content in Trash being automatically removed after it expires, or documents being permanently deleted according to your settings;
• Device failures, operating-system restrictions, or interruptions to third-party services;
• Force majeure or events beyond the Developer’s reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability arising from the Developer’s intentional misconduct, gross negligence, infringement of personal rights, breach of mandatory consumer-protection obligations, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Termination

You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time. Stopping use or uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription.

If you materially violate these Terms or applicable law, your software license may terminate as permitted by law.

Provisions relating to intellectual property, user responsibility, liability, and dispute resolution survive termination to the extent required by their nature.

15. Minors

If you are under 18, you should review and accept these Terms under the guidance of a parent or legal guardian.

You must obtain your guardian’s consent before making a purchase. Guardians should reasonably supervise a minor’s use of the App and membership purchases.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in App functionality, applicable law, or platform requirements.

If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable and prominent notice and obtain renewed consent where required by law. Revised Terms will include updated “Last Updated” and “Effective Date” information.

If you disagree with the revised Terms, you may stop using the relevant features and turn off auto-renewal. Rights you have already lawfully acquired will not be unreasonably reduced.

17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Without limiting any mandatory consumer-protection law applicable where you live, these Terms are governed by the laws of China.

The parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith consultation. If consultation fails, either party may bring proceedings before a court with lawful jurisdiction.

You may also submit a complaint to a consumer association, market-regulation authority, or other competent authority as permitted by law.
